Background

December 2015 – Mission Manenberg was born! Born, through the realisation of the hunger of the community, the prospect of hope, light and upliftment. This, for a community from which great potential is possible.

What started off as a single food distribution of only a few punnets of food, evolved into a monthly food distribution feeding 1000+ individuals, and a monthly bread drive.
COVID saw the end to our monthly food distributions, and the birth of our weekly soup kitchens. In addition to this, Mission Manenberg supports four madāris in the community, facilitate teacher training workshops as well as the general upliftment of other teachers and students.

By getting involved on a grassroots level and engaging with the various role-players, volunteers, stake-holders and others, Mission Manenberg was able to extend its reach in the community, and widen its impact.

Through widespread support and care from you, the community, and the community of Manenberg, Mission Manenberg is able to continue uplifting individuals and families in the community we work with.
